---> i had so much laundry today. it was a mixture between the week before my trip, my trip, and this week. that's a lot of clothes.
problem #1: i really loathe doing laundry in cedar. now mom, don't get me wrong, i love doing it at home. But here...it's basically a three hour fiasco. today, i tried to have a positive attitude.
problem #2: it takes anywhere between 5 and 6 dollars....in
QUARTERS to do your laundry. thats right, you heard me. QUARTERS. my money jar is filled with shiny pennies, smooth nickels, and (personally my favorite coin) dimes. but NO quarters. i scrounged around (including pouring out my coin jar onto the floor) until i found about 4 dollars in quarters and thought that would probably have to last me.
problem #3: as stated above, i had a lot of clothes. which took up 3 washers. 3 washers=3 dollars. i put the money in, shut the door, and turned each washer on.
problem #4:
i forgot to put soap in all 3 washers.
problem #5: if you open the washer door, the washer will stop working, and reset, and you have to pay all over again. i didn't have enough money to pay all over again. i didn't dare open the washer door.
problem #6: when i went to go move the clothes from the washer to the dryer, one load of my clothes was
sopping wet. like...really really wet. there must be some sort of malfunction on that machine.
problem #7: i only had 1 dollar left, for 2 dryers. luckily, my loving roommate whitney helped me out and gave me a few more quarters.
first load of laundry out of the dryer...SUCCESS. hooray!
problem #8: second batch of laundry was in the dryer for 36 minutes...still sopping wet. i added another 2 quarters for another 24 minutes in the dryer... (thanks to whitney, again).
problem #9: still wet...out of money...giving up. no extra hangers to hang clothes on.
problem #10: every open chair in this entire apartment has a damp shirt or a pair of khaki pants laying over it, and my lion king towel is currently laying out in my room with soggy underwear and socks all over it.
i've decided to try and avoid using these washer and dryers again at all costs.
so mom, keep the laundry room open when i get home, im going to have a mega-load.
