thanks to brynn for the ideas...i've decided to do my own version of the 30-day song challenge. (i'm going to do more than one a day)
#1: your favorite song.
you've got a friend i love this song because it reminds me of singing with my dad/family. it also is a song that i would love to sing to every one of my friends. i feel lucky to have such amazing friends and i hope that i can do as much for them as they have for me. (cheesy but true)
favorite line: "now ain't it good to know that you've got a friend, when people can be so cold. they'll hurt you, yes, and desert you and take your soul if you let them, oh but don't you let them."
runners up: stop this train first of all, i love john mayer. this song reminds me about living life spontaneously and enjoying where i am. favorite line: "so scared of getting older, i'm only good at being young. but i play the numbers game to find a way to say that life has just begun. had a talk with my old man, said help me understand he said 'turn 68, you'll renegotiate' don't stop this train, don't for a minute change the place your in..." (okay, sorry. that was more like the entire chorus) circle of life i feel like this doesn't need much explaining...it gives me the chills everytime i see/listen to it. it reminds me of so many good times. and that's what a good song should do right?
#2: your least favorite song.
bad romance seriously overplayed, and it's lady gaga. need i say more? NOT a fan.
#3: a song that makes you happy.
everybody this song currently has the most plays on my iTunes. and for a good reason! it has such a happy tune and it's fun to sing along to (plus... less lyrics to memorize). favorite line: "just open up your chest and let it in, just let the love, love, love begin"
runners up: man in the mirror how can michael jackson not make you happy?! the lyrics of this song are superb. favorite line: "if you want to make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and make a change." put your records on definition of happy right there. another one i love to sing along with. it's a simple reminder to be yourself. "the more things seem to change, the more they stay the same oh don't you hesitate."

Great songs... I''m glad you're going to do this, can't wait to read every day.
We re-watched the Circle of Life from last year at Libby. Best ever!
All of those songs are "so Bagel"! I hear them and think of you! And about Lady Gaga, yuck I definitely agree!
Interesting choices. I am writing to Preston and he just sent home a quote about "Man in the Mirror" so I am going to tell him your fave's. etc. It is so fresh to read some of your stories in the school newspaper. It must have been ticklish to report on the vandalism against gay candidates. "Just the facts, ma'am. Nothing, but the facts," repeated Detective Friday.
